How we stabilised and secured MND NSW’s legacy websites and built secure donation, event and equipment platforms over a ten-year partnership.
About MND NSW
Motor Neurone Disease NSW supports people living with MND, their families and carers, along with health professionals, donors and volunteers. Its digital estate spans several interconnected platforms, from the main website and donation system to FlexEquip, a custom application that lets medical practitioners procure specialised equipment for members.
What needed protecting
- Several inherited legacy websites with known security and maintenance issues
- Donor payment flows and event registrations
- Information about people living with a serious illness, their carers and equipment needs
- Practitioner access to the FlexEquip equipment application
What we do
- Took over hosting, then stabilised and secured each legacy site as the first priority
- Moved the platforms to secure Australian hosting with regular backups and security monitoring
- Built FlexEquip with role-based access for medical practitioners
- Rebuilt the main site in 2025 to WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards with hardened donation and event systems
- Ongoing patching, monitoring and support across all platforms
- Office network, device and Microsoft 365 protection delivered with our trusted Australian IT and MSP partners

Ten years on, MND NSW runs a stable, secure set of platforms with improved security across every site, accessible design, and online donations and event management its team can rely on.
